North York Moors National Park

Discover The Place

5 Days Out in the Moors

Each day starts with one of the Easy Going Routes. If you fancy exploring the 2,000 year old fortifications at Cawthorn you might like to try Day 5 or perhaps a visit to the top of the most northerly white horse in England appeals – if so make a beeline for Day 1.

After all this excitement you’re sure to be in need of a bite to eat! Each of the tried and tested itineraries suggest accessible places to have some lunch. So you can ‘eat the view’ at Sutton Bank, tantalize your taste buds at the Fox & Hounds or tuck in at ‘The Hall’.

In the afternoons you are invited to try something a little bit different! Get to grips with how everyday folk lived from the earliest of times to the present day at the Ryedale Folk Museum on Day 2 or discover the hardships of being a ‘trappy lad’ at the Cleveland Ironstone Mining Museum on Day 3. If you’re a steam enthusiast then a ride on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway on Day 4 will be hard to beat!

Do one day or all five – it’s entirely up to you! And once you’ve worked your way through them you can start making your own fantastic days out using the Access Guide and Easy Going Route Cards.
