Woodland Creation Officer

Would you like to have a long term beneficial impact on the landscape and wildlife of the North York Moors National Park? This is an exciting opportunity to think creatively about how we can achieve new woodlands both now and in the future. This is a permanent post to deliver our ambitious long term woodland creation targets associated with the Woodsmith Mine’s Section 106 agreement. We are looking for someone who has experience of developing substantial woodland schemes with private landowners and building up long term programmes of work. You will need to have a practical understanding of land management and woodland creation as well as drive and determination to achieve stretching targets.

Salary:  £24.5k to £28.2k with potential progression to £31k

Conservation Apprentice (Southern Team)

This is a great opportunity for people leaving school/college who: • enjoy working as part of a team • want to do a Level 2 qualification in Environmental Conservation • enjoy working outside and want to learn practical skills • are interested in countryside issues and want to help with the work of the National Park.

Salary:  £125.80/week

Conservation Trainee (2 year fixed term contract)

This is a brilliant opportunity for you to put your academic knowledge into practice and develop your career with two years practical work experience. You’ll get the chance to help us establish wildlife corridors which means that you will work on farmland, woodland, rivers and species rich grassland. As well as helping with the Authority’s Traditional Boundary Scheme which offers land managers grants to do hedge and walling work.
