Archaeology Officer (3 year fixed term contract)

This is an exciting opportunity for an archaeologist wanting to develop their experience in the historic environment of a protected upland landscape. We are looking for an enthusiastic person to assist with the management, protection, recording and interpretation of the archaeological heritage of the North York Moors.

We have one of the highest densities of Scheduled Monuments in England and 1000s of other non-designated sites covering the periods from the end of the last ice age all the way through to military remains from the 20th Century.

You will have to show us that you have;

*At least 2 years post qualification experience in British archaeology.
*A good understanding of the management of archaeological sites.
*A specific interest in upland landscape archaeology
*Experience of HER work in a rural environment, including the use, creation and editing of digital HER records
*Good IT skills including the ability to use Microsoft Office, databases and GIS

Salary - £19,819 to £22,401 with potential progression to £25,463
