New campaign answers 'Call of Nature'
Residents and businesses with off-mains sewage treatment systems are urged to support the ‘Call of Nature Yorkshire’ campaign to help improve water quality in rivers and seas. The campaign aims to raise awareness of the environmental hazard caused by poorly maintained septic tanks, cesspits and package treatment plants and what people can do to help protect their environment.

Positional statement on fracking
The North York Moors National Park is a specially-protected place for good reason. As the guardians of this magnificent landscape, its habitats, wildlife and tranquillity, the Authority - along with the Government - remain firmly against fracking for shale gas beneath the National Park. We need to consider the area’s long-term interests.
