The North York Moors National Park is a great place for people to use and enjoy. This special and distinctive landscape is rich in character, wildlife, history and heritage. It is home to around 25,000 people, it provides employment and offers a great diversity of opportunities for recreation and access which attract around 10 million visitor days per year.

This range and diversity of opportunity does however bring with it a need for management and the North York Moors National Park Authority is working hard to balance the needs of the landscape, wildlife, local communities and visitors. The Authority is also encouraging sustainable use of the area and to working to alleviate threats and conflicts where they exist.

This set of resources provides examples of problems and conflicts caused by people in the Park, together with information about what the Park Authority is doing to alleviate the problems and suggestions for classroom activities. Includes photographs to stimulate discussion.
