Accessible attractions
From abbeys, halls and Roman camps to castles, art galleries and folk museums there are plenty of places to visit in and around the North York Moors National Park. But what will you find when you get there? Will there be level access? What about car parking? Are there any accessible toilets? This section is intended to answer these questions and many more besides!
But people differ in their needs and requirements and so what will be accessible for one person may not be for another. The intention is, therefore, to supply as much information as possible so that you can make an informed decision about where you want to visit.
Please note:
- The information has been provided by the individual attractions and countryside sites in response to a questionnaire survey sent out in June/July 2002.
- Specifically it is advised that potential visitors should contact individual attractions to double check suitability for their own individual needs.
- Inclusion in this section does not necessarily imply that all the sites are fully accessible for wheelchair users. Many of them are, some of them are partially accessible and a few, due to the nature of the sites, are not. It is especially important to double check before committing yourself to a visit.
