White Horse Walk

                Below the White Horse

A spectacular, circular walk of 4 km from Sutton Bank National Park Centre. The route follows the edge of the escarpment, past the Yorkshire Gliding Club and on to the famous White Horse of Kilburn. We then descend the White Horse steps and wind our way through woodland before heading back to Sutton Bank top via the Thieves’ Highway. Children are provided with O.S. maps and aerial photographs, and along the way various geographical skills, including field sketching, are introduced. Wellies or sturdy shoes with good grip, warm clothes and a coat with a hood are required at all times of year.
