Buildings and planning

The built environment is an important part of the rich cultural heritage of the North York Moors. The National Park Authority is the local planning authority for the North York Moors. The Planning Authority helps to ensure that development maintains the special qualities of the area and provides for the needs of people who live and work here and for those who come to enjoy this beautiful landscape.
