Authority Services

Business Plan

The Business Plan (the Plan) provides an opportunity for the Authority to communicate its aims and objectives to customers, stakeholders, elected representatives and the wider public and explain how we intend to achieve them.  It also sets out longer term targets for what the Authority wishes to see happen in the ensuing 10-25 years.

The Strategic Priorities within the Plan determine the direction and emphasis of the Authority’s work and have been developed as a result of feedback from a broad range of people: parish councils, local organizations’, residents, visitors and volunteers.

Issues such as climate change, partnership working, tranquillity, affordable housing, village caretakers and the Moorsbus service are amongst those that the Business Plan targets for action.

Progress of the Plan is monitored continuously against a range of performance indicators and measured against set targets throughout the Plan period.  An annual progress report also contains a review of the Authority’s activities and associated resource allocations.

The financial principles established in the previous Business Plan (2005-2008) have enabled an expansion in activities without compromising the longer-term health of the Authority.

The financial strategy that underpins this Plan will also ensure that there is flexibility to adapt to new priorities and changing circumstances.
