Core Strategy and Development Policies
The Core Strategy and Development Policies incorporating the Inspector's changes was adopted by the Authority on 13th November 2008 and the document now forms part of the Development Plan for the Park for the purposes of making decisions on planning applications.

Examination
An examination of the North York Moors National Park Core Strategy and Development Policies document was carried out by an Inspector, Clifford Hughes BA (Hons) Sip TP MRTPI. Core Policy J Criterion 1 - Affordable Housing
Following a successful High Court challenge to the affordable housing policies in the Blyth Valley Core Strategy, the Inspector asked the Authority to submit additional evidence justifying its affordable housing policies. After considering this evidence, the Inspector is considering changes to Core Policy J to accord with the Blyth Valley judgement and national policy. The Representations
The Core Strategy and Development Policies Development Plan Document was formally submitted to the Secretary of State on 11th January 2008 at the start of a six week consultation period which ran until 22nd February 2008. A total of 37 organisations and individuals made 159 representations on the Submission Core Strategy and Development Policies document within the statutory six week period.
