Crafts
Would you know where to go if you wanted a chair caning or a rocking horse mending, a bird stuffing or a dolls house making? Not only could all these wants be fulfilled in or around the North York Moors National Park but you could discover a host of equally unusual and interesting activities going on.
The range of craftspeople is truly amazing sculptors, potters, woodworkers, jewellers, turners, silversmiths, blacksmiths, stick makers, weavers and candle makers, the list seems endless. You can watch a number of these craftspeople at work and will often find their products for sale in local shops and galleries. You will find attractive, individual and practical items. How about a pair of traditionally made felt slippers?
You will often find local products and exhibitions by local art and crafts people in National Park Centres.
Brigantia is an association of art and craft workers in and around the North York Moors. Details are available from Brigantia.
