Forest Habitat Networks
Ideas are now developing on how habitats work at the landscape scale. Work commissioned by a range of partners, including the National Park Authority, has considered how the conservation of woodlands in the North York Moors and the Howardian Hills AONB can be viewed in the context of a forest habitat network.
The work was carried out by George Peterken, a woodland ecologist. His report, 'Native Woodland Development in the North York Moors and Howardian Hills', can be downloaded in our Publications Section.
