Information for residents
Our 25,000 residents are the lifeblood of the North York Moors National Park. The National Park Authority recognizes this and aims to provide for local people and communities’ needs whilst balancing this with the maintenance of the nationally important landscape and support for the local economy. Community – Environment – Economy are all seen as being intrinsically linked.
Our job as the National Park Authority is to work in partnership with local residents and communities to ensure that the National Park remains a special place in which to live, work and play, now and for future generations of National Park residents.
As a resident, the National Park Authority’s work impacts directly on your life. Every policy, planning decision or project as well as the way we deal with farming and tourism is significant to you.
To make sure you're up to date with these and the other areas of work undertaken by the National Park Authority visit this website regularly. It also tells you how to get more directly involved, how to make your suggestions and comments heard and how to make the most of everything that is so special about being a National Park resident.
