Moors Message
Tread Gently - despite surviving all sorts of weather, the moors, their plants and animals are fragile and sensitive.
Fences and Walls - keep some animals in and some our. Use stiles or gates (and shut them).
Fire - uncontrolled fires can devastate vast areas of moorland which may never fully recover. Don't start campfires or drop cigarettes or matches.
Litter - is dangerous as well as unsightly. Take it home.
Dogs - on rights of way please keep dogs on leads at all times. Follow local restrictions on Open Access land. A loose dog running over the moors can be catastropic for sheep, ground nesting birds, and sometimes the dog itself.
Noise - moorlands should be quiet places. Try to keep it that way.
Safety - weather conditions can change quickly. Are you fully equipped.
Footpaths - are for feet. Bicycles may be ridden on bridleways. Motorcycles and other traffic should stick to roads.
Leave the countryside as you found it, for others to enjoy.
