Planning

The North York Moors National Park Authority is the local planning authority for the North York Moors.
Planning helps to ensure that development maintains the special nature of the area and provides for the needs of people who live and work here and for those who come to enjoy this beautiful landscape.
The Planning Team is introducing pre-application advice charging from the 16th January 2012 for larger schemes. These will include multiple housing/holiday unit proposals, commercial schemes over 200 square metres, larger farm buildings and major developments. The charges will be £250 one off payment payable in advance. However for major development the fees will be £250 at the outset and £50 per hour thereafter.
