Recreation Management
Because of the overlapping issues between Recreation Management and Rangers, Estate Services and Volunteers the reviews of these two services were done at the same time.
In a bid to canvass perceptions and issues on these areas of our work over 2000 questionnaires were distributed and in excess of 500 responses were received.
The main findings included:
- Management of access and Rights of Way is most people’s top priority
- Rangers are valued for their work with local communities
- There is a lack of knowledge about delivery of local grants
- Clear signposting and trail guides were highlighted as the most important aspects of Rights of Way management
- Rights of Way were rated good (83%) or excellent (13%)
- 40% of respondents were unaware of volunteering opportunities
- 70% rated volunteers’ work as good.
