Regional Routes
More than a day out but less than a trek, Regional Routes are an easy and enjoyable way to explore the North York Moors National Park. There are two Regional Routes in the North York Moors:
- Esk Valley Walk - a 35 mile (56 km) route exploring this beautiful stretch of countryside, from the source of the Esk, high on the moors, to the coast at Whitby.
- Tabular Hills Walk -through farmland, moor and forest, this 48 mile (77 km) long route takes you from the delightful market town of Helmsley along the Tabular Hills with its stunning view out across the moors to the coast at Scarborough.
The routes have been designed for a short holiday under your own steam and are ideal for a long weekend. They aim to combine the best of the area's paths and tracks, avoiding roads wherever possible and linking with local service providers to offer the perfect package to "get away from it all".
