Small Scale Enhancement Scheme
North York Moors National Park LEADER Small Scale Enhancements Scheme
The Small Scale Enhancements Scheme forms a secondary project to the main LEADER Programme and is being delivered in the North York Moors by the National Park Authority.
The aim of the project is to co-ordinate and help deliver small scale community projects which have been highlighted by members of the community.
Funding is available for proposals up to a total project cost of £5,000 and is available for communities within the North York Moors National Park boundary. Project proposals in excess of £5,000 are eligible for a full LEADER application.
The scheme focuses on rural development projects under the following theme;
- Conservation and upgrading of the rural heritage – aimed at increasing the understanding of our working landscape and helping to protect traditional skills by raising awareness through interpretation, appreciation and maintenance of local heritage and cultural features.
There is a small amount of money available for village renewal and development projects for work that enhances the local village environment. If you feel your project falls within this theme please contact the Scheme co-ordinator for further advice.
The main purpose of the SSE Scheme is to benefit rural communities with projects and ideas which are generated from the heart of your community. Therefore if your community, Parish Council or local interest groups have any small scale village or environmental plans, or plans relating to heritage features then the SSE Scheme provides a fantastic opportunity to implement your ideas.

In addition to the North York Moors LEADER Small Scale Enhancements Scheme there are similar schemes operating in Ryedale (outside the National Park) and East Cleveland. If your proposal falls outside of the National Park boundary but within either of these two areas, please contact the co-ordinator who will be able to forward you onto the relevant person operating in these areas.
