Supplementary Planning Documents form part of the North York Moors Local Development Framework, providing more detailed guidance on specific topics. The documents are not subject to independent examination but must be subject to public consultation before being adopted.
Design Guide, Renewable Energy and Housing Supplementary Planning Documents
The Authority has adopted three Supplementary Planning Documents - a Design Guide, and documents on renewable energy and housing. The Renewable Energy and Housing documents have been revised to provide further guidance on the policies in the Core Strategy and Development Policies document and were adopted by the Authority on 15th April 2010. Ampleforth Conservation Area Assessment and Management Plan Supplementary Planning Document
The Authority has produced a Conservation Area Assessment and Management Plan for Ampleforth Conservation Area jointly with Ryedale District Council and it has been adopted by both authorities as a Supplementary Planning Document. The final adopted version will be available on the web site shortly.

Oswaldkirk Conservation Area Assessment and Management Plan Supplementary Planning Document
The Authority has produced a Conservation Area Assessment and Management Plan for Oswaldkirk Conservation Area jointly with Ryedale District Council which is being adopted by both authorities as a Supplementary Planning Document. The document was endorsed by the National Park Authority in October and by Ryedale District Council in December 2011.

Cloughton Conservation Area Appraisal
Although the main part of Cloughton village is within Scarborough Borough's area for planning purposes, part of the Conservation Area is within the National Park. The Borough Council has adopted a character appraisal for the Conservation Area and this has been endorsed by the Authority and will be taken into account by the Authority in making planning decisions in that part of the Conservation Area in the Park.

Osmotherley and Thimbleby Village Design Statement
The Osmotherley and Thimbleby Village Design Statement was adopted as a Supplementary Planning Document on 25th February 2011. It is part of the North York Moors Local Development Framework. A designed version of the Village Design Statement is currently being produced and will be made available here.
