Sustainable Tourism committment

Businesses which have signed up to the principles of sustainable business managament are entitled to display a certificate within their premises.

By staying at or visiting one of these businesses you will be helping to conserve the North York Moors National Park.

The certificate commits them to the following principles:

• Reducing, Reusing, Recycling
• Purchasing through local suppliers
• Refusing goods or services which are environmentally damaging
• Becoming more energy efficient
• Composting appropriate refuse
• Reducing water consumption
• Reducing packaging volume
• Buying recycled products
• Recycling water, cans, plastic, glass & paper
• Supporting the local community through employment opportunities
• Setting good environmental examples
• Conserving the local environment, heritage and traditions
• Supporting the North York Moors National Park Authority’s aims
