Window on the Park Trail

You’ll find this short, wheelchair accessible, trail in the grounds of the Centre. The trail expands on the themes explored in the inside exhibition. If you do nothing else why not take this easy stroll and discover a little bit more about this special place?

Walks Around Sutton Bank

  1. The White Horse (3 miles/5km): this ‘old favourite’ takes you along the escarpment edge to the famous White Horse of Kilburn.
  2. Lake Gormire (5 miles/8km): an enjoyable stroll through woodlands and fields, with fantastic views of Lake Gormire.
  3. Scotch Corner (5 miles/8km): this walk is away from the hustle and bustle and includes spectacular views of the small village of Oldstead as well as offering the opportunity to discover the intriguing chapel at Scotch Corner.
  4. Nettle Dale and the Hambleton Hills (9 miles/14.5km): following quiet lanes and footpaths through woodland and gently rolling farmland, this walk is a must!
  5. Kilburn Woods (6 miles/10km): a glorious woodland wander through a mixed broadleaved and coniferous forest.
