Award-winning photographers Steve Race and George Stoyle depict the incredible wildlife of the Yorkshire Coast. There's also a chance to speak to both photographers at an ‘Artist Q & A’ on 27 June during the Morning Bride gig and hear about their adventures, inspiration and work on 1 July.

Steve Race

Steve Race is an award-winning wildlife photographer based in Scarborough. He has lived on the Yorkshire coast all his life and – as a keen naturalist for over 30 years – believes there is no better place for variety of habitats and amazing wildlife.

Inspired by the natural world around him, Steve has an eye for wildlife that results in incredible images, which have been seen in national and regional newspapers and magazines, websites and other publications. Steve's images have also been used by the RSPB, the National Trust and the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust.

In 2013 his work was “Commended” in the ‘Wildlife Photographer of the Year’ and ‘British Wildlife Photographer of the Year’ awards. In 2014 he was “Commended” in the ‘Big Picture Natural World Photography Competition’ at the California Academy of Sciences, San Francisco, USA.

Steve’s passion for the natural world extends to his company, ‘Yorkshire Coast Nature’, which delivers nature tours, photography workshops and events across the Yorkshire coast.

Steve is also in great demand as an exhibitor, lecturer and presenter, in particular appearing on programmes such as Countryfile and Newsround as well as regional television programmes.

George Stoyle

George Stoyle is a landscape, wildlife and conservation photographer, based in North Yorkshire and specialising in coastal landscape photography.

He is a keen diver and ventures underwater whenever possible to photograph the spectacular marine life that can be found in UK waters.

As a marine ecologist and passionate conservationist, George is also involved in numerous environmental projects around the world, in which he uses his photography and scientific knowledge to tell insightful, captivating stories, generating a unique blend of science and creative vision.

George regularly publishes articles and photographs in national and international media. He has also been commended in a number of photography competitions, including ‘British Wildlife Photographer of the Year’, ‘Scottish Nature Photography Awards’ and ‘Food Photographer of the Year’.

He has recently worked on National Geographic and Smithsonian Institution expeditions, and runs regular landscape photography and post-processing workshops. George is also an ecologist and tutor for Yorkshire Coast Nature.
