Get a flavour of James Cook’s life as a boy. Meet at Great Ayton where he went to school, then walk through fields to Little Ayton, a possible route he may have taken to the farm where his father worked. On to Easby Moor with its Captain Cook’s Monument, then join the Cleveland Way as it heads towards Roseberry Topping, with the option of climbing to the top before returning to the start past the newly excavated house where James and his family lived during summer months.
