Inspired by....Gallery Volunteers
Those of you who have visited The Moors National Park Centre at Danby will know about the gem that is the Inspired by… Gallery. Opened four years ago, this beautiful exhibition space hosts a changing programme of paintings, photographs, ceramics, woodwork and much more from local artists inspired by the North York Moors.
New for 2011 will be an opportunity to volunteer at the Gallery and join a ‘Friends of the Inspired by Gallery’ group. We are looking for people who would be willing to give up a few days of their time to man exhibitions and assist with promoting the gallery and its exhibitions. You’ll need good people skills and an interest in local art and culture. Computer skills would be beneficial but are not essential.
In return, you’ll get invites to specialist talks and demonstrations from the artists, invitations to any previews, an induction day and a 10% discount in the Inspired by… Gallery on the days you are on duty.
If you’re interested, find out more by contacting the Authority’s Events and Exhibitions Coordinator, Sally Ann Smith on 01439 770657 or email s.smith@northyorkmoors-npa.gov.uk
For general volunteer enquiries including group volunteering opportunities, please contact Jo Leckenby, Volunteer Service Assistant on 01439 770657 or j.leckenby@northyorkmoors-npa.gov.uk
