Why are villages important?

Villages provide a home and a community for people living in the National Park.

Village Post Office  Villages provide facilities for local people and visitors

Villages provide community facilities such as shops, post offices, schools, doctors and transport links.

Traditional villages look very pretty and this attracts tourists. Tourists are very important to the local communities because they spend money in shops, cafes, pubs and hotels. This helps local businesses and provides jobs for local people.

Villages have many traditional and very old buildings, these are an important feature of the landscape and some  are protected because they are so special.
