All Members of the Authority serve on the Planning Committee.

Its responsibilities include:

  • Determining planning applications
  • Authorising some enforcement action
  • Deciding on the formation and review of planning policies
  • Authorising Tree Preservation Orders

Business

1. Livestreaming and recording – The chair to inform members of the public that the meeting is livestreamed and recorded.

2. Emergency evacuation procedure – The chair to inform members of the public of the emergency evacuation procedure.

3. Apologies for absence.

4. Public minutes of the meeting held on Thursday 6 February 2025.

5. Public minutes of the site visit held on Friday 14 March 2025.

7. Members are reminded that it is their responsibility to declare the nature of any personal, prejudicial and/or disclosable interests relating to any agenda item immediately prior to its consideration and are encouraged to complete a written declaration using the form provided.

9.  To consider applications, together with the Director of Planning recommendations thereon:-

  1. NYM/2024/0577 - Construction of 30no. dwellings (mix of affordable, principal residence and open market), conversion of Station House into four apartments with associated parking/garages and amenity space, conversion of engine shed building into two principal residence dwellings and landscaping works at West Ayton Highways Depot, Garth End Road, West Ayton
  2. NYM/2019/0832/FL - Proposed repairs to roads and tracks and creation of new tracks for agricultural and forestry purposes (part retrospective) at land at Newgate Farm, Hackness

Relevant planning files are available for inspection prior to the Meeting upon request. Photographic evidence will be on display in the Committee Room (where applicable).

10. Such other business as, in the opinion of the Chair, should, by reason of special circumstances, be considered as a matter of urgency.
