All Members of the Authority serve on the Planning Committee.

Its responsibilities include:

  • Determining planning applications
  • Authorising some enforcement action
  • Deciding on the formation and review of planning policies
  • Authorising Tree Preservation Orders

Business

1. Livestreaming and recording – The chair to inform members of the public that the meeting is livestreamed and recorded.

2. Emergency evacuation procedure – The chair to inform members of the public of the emergency evacuation procedure.

3. Apologies for absence.

4. Public minutes of the meeting held on Thursday 10 July 2025.

6. Members are reminded that it is their responsibility to declare the nature of any personal, prejudicial and/or disclosable interests relating to any agenda item immediately prior to its consideration and are encouraged to complete a written declaration using the form provided.

8.  To consider applications, together with the Director of Planning recommendations thereon:-

  1. NYM/2025/0328 - construction of workshop building with parking provision to support tree surgery business together with landscaping at land southeast of Park Nook Farm, Langburns Bank, Castleton
  2. NYM/2025/0156 -  variation of condition 6 of planning approval NYM4/027/0140/OL (allowed on appeal) to change the local occupancy condition to a principal residence condition on all four dwellings at Jevans View, Marys View, South Cheek and Old Peak, Raven Hall Road, Ravenscar
  3. NYM/2025/0440 -  change of use from dwellinghouse (Use Class C3) to 4 no. letting rooms serving the Royal Oak Public House (no external alterations) (retrospective) at Sycamore House, Main Street, Gillamoor
  4. NYM/2025/0297 -  change of use of land to nursery garden between the hours of 9.30am and 11.30am and 2.30pm and 4.30pm together with erection of fencing, shed and teepee (part retrospective) at Early Explorers, Carlton Lane, Helmsley

9. Such other business as, in the opinion of the Chair, should, by reason of special circumstances, be considered as a matter of urgency.
