Welcome! The National Park Education Service offers a wide range of inspiring activities to help children and young people experience, understand and enjoy this very special place.

We provide curriculum-linked activities led by qualified and experienced leaders from the National Park Education Service and are based at The Moors National Park Centre and Sutton Bank Visitor Centre. Activities last from an hour up to a full day.

We'll come to you - FREE ZOOM sessions and Assemblies
We are now able to deliver free ZOOM sessions, brining the National Park right into your classrooms. These can be for whole year groups or individual classes. Sessions are tailored to your requirements and will only involve your school and no other external audiences. You can join our ZOOM room or we can join yours. Choose from the options below.
- The seashore habitat - looking at the variety of life on the coast along with a look at fossils and the problem of litter.
- Habitats and animals - an introduction the range of habitats in the National Park and the animals which live their and how they are adapted.
- The Countryside Code - looking at recent anti social behaviour and how we can all help to look after the countryside.
- Fun things to do in the countryside - exploring opportunities for enjoying the countryside the wide range of activities available, many of which are free.
We provide assemblies for schools in and around the National Park. Primary assemblies include an introduction to the habitats and wildlife of the National Park and special things young people can do in the North York Moors.
Our popular Secondary school assembly programme includes career options in the conservation sector and an overview of environmental issues in the National Park.
We'll come to you - activities
Between September to April we can come to you to deliver the following interactive classroom based activities for Key Stage 2 children; Classifying and Identifying Animals and Evolution. Please contact us for further information and costs.
Groups with special needs
We are happy to adapt or develop activities to suit the special needs of groups or individuals wherever possible.
