Walks, field edges and plant growth are documented using monoprint working directly with nature. Picking plants and rolling them through an etching press has a slow rhythm that feeds into a connective thread from the space of the external landscape to the inside space of the studio.
Current work explores the immediate landscape surrounding her studio in Staithes, imposing cliffs, indigenous sea kale and the rock armour sea defence, the final edge between land and sea.
Stef has exhibits, prints and paintings nationally and internationally. She was recently feature printmaker at The Craft Centre and Design Gallery at Leeds and had her work in the 2014 Liverpool Biennale. In 2014 and 2015 she was shortlisted for the Flourish Award for excellence in printmaking.
Stef was selected for Connections North: Mirror Images, an international print exhibition with simultaneous exhibitions in North Yorkshire, Cumbria, Scotland, Finland and Sweden in 2015.
