Covid-19 update from 5 January 2021

In line with Government guidance, The Moors National Park Centre, Inspired by... gallery and Park Life Café are now closed and will reopen when restrictions are lifted.

All exhibitions, events and activities have been cancelled/postponed.

We know how important accessing the National Park is to your health and wellbeing and therefore our car parks and toilets remain open for local use. You can exercise once a day in a public outdoor place local to you with people you live with, your support bubble (or as part of a childcare bubble), or, when on your own, with one other person. In all cases, you should social distance from anyone you do not live with or is not part of your support bubble.

If you're only a short distance away and thinking of exercising here, please follow our guidelines for accessing the National Park responsibly #RespectProtectEnjoy

Please don’t visit if you have symptoms of COVID-19.

What's open?

The car park and grounds remain open.

The car park ticket machines take cash only but are cleaned on a regular basis. PayByPhone is also available and we recommend downloading the app before your visit. If there's no mobile coverage, you can either move to an area with better network coverage and complete your parking transaction or pay via the Pay & Display machine. The North York Moors National Park page on the PayByPhone website has further information and links to download the app.

All the money raised in this car park is spent on looking after the National Park. Thank you for helping others to enjoy their time here.

The outdoor adventure playground is open. Please wash everyone’s hands thoroughly before and after use and avoid touching your face. Supervise your children carefully – help them have fun while keeping their social distance.

Crow Wood is also open. Follow the woodland trail and hunt down the secretive woodlings.

Our toilets are open (daily 10am–4pm) but are operating at a reduced capacity to make social distancing easier for you. You may also find them closed for additional cleaning during the day, please be patient as our staff clean the toilets for you.

Dog policy

Dogs are not allowed in Crow Wood, except for assistance dogs.

Crow Wood, a small woodland area, is used for children's activities such as den building and plant identification where children are likely to be in close contact with the ground and professional advice given to us is that we should avoid the potential for contamination with domestic animals.

We’re all in this together!

We know these measures and restrictions will have an impact on your visit, but please be kind and considerate to our amazing staff who are still there looking after the site to keep it safe for you.

You can read our full COVID-19 risk assessment which will be updated as things change.

These measures will remain under constant review
