2nd Nov 2019 6:00pm-8:00pm
This event is organised by North York Moors National Park
Assuming skies are reasonable for observing, we shall be taking a peek at the lovely crescent moon, observing the magnificent rings of Saturn and visiting some of the celestial wonders visible in the autumn sky – including dying stars, stellar citadels, and ‘island universes.
We shall take a tour of the constellations pointing out key stars and star groups. On the ground, through demonstrations we shall explore the scale of our solar system and beyond.
If cloudy, there will be an indoor presentation on the autumn night sky and a preview of the magnificent winter constellations soon to rise.
Hot drinks available. Wrap up warm and bring a torch.
Wheelchair accessible. Sorry, no dogs. All children to be accompanied by an adult.
