Lime and Ice

The Lime and Ice project created opportunities for people to learn about, explore and enjoy the landscape heritage of the south-west corner of the North York Moors National Park and the northern part of the adjoining Howardian Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).

The project was part of the CAN DO Partnership’s aim to promote understanding and access to the area’s cultural and natural heritage.

A range of activities was provided each year including guided walks, talks and working with young people through schools and volunteering activities. Find out more about some of the project activities:

The project ended in July 2013 and you can download the final report here

The project was funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, with additional financial support provided by the North York Moors National Park Authority, the Howardian Hills AONB, English Heritage, Natural England and the Forestry Commission. The project ran from 2008 until 2013.
