Scarborough Maritime Heritage Centre is a registered charity and is run by volunteers. The centre includes ships models, archives, books, artefacts and an enthusiastic band of volunteers who make the history of Scarborough and the surrounding area interesting and fun.

There is a different exhibitions every season, with past ones including the Titanic and Pirates!

The centre also has an educational arm so volunteers can visit schools and present fascinating talks.

So when in Scarborough, visit Scarborough Maritime Heritage Centre.


Outside the centre is a public pavement with slabs. There is one step in to the centre and a further step in the middle of the centre. Help is available to anyone with any special requests.

Some committee members have basic sign language training and there is also a special needs officer.
