Exploring Yearsley Moor
Yearsley Moor (or Yearsley woods) is an area in the Howardian Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
As part of the Lime & Ice project a small and dedicated group of volunteers researched the area’s history.
This involved documentary research, onsite studies and speaking with local people and experts. You can find out more about the project and its findings by watching a series of short films which were produced in 2011.
A final written report has been compiled, including more detailed information about the discoveries made.
As part of the project a large collection of medieval and later pottery was recovered from the Yearsley Moor site and a report detailing the findings has been produced.
