The striking southern headland of Robin Hood's Bay is rich in human and natural history. Delve into the past, investigate local industrial heritage at the old Alum Works and explore the remains of a WWII radar station or see a reinstated rocket post, once used in practice exercises by coastguards. Enjoy scenic walks taking in stunning views, flower rich clifftop meadows, woodlands, farmland and ponds.

Drop in at Ravenscar Visitor Centre, open daily from Easter until the end of October (10am - 5pm), then weekends only in November and December (10am - 4pm) with displays and information to enhance your visit. Make the most of the picnic area – the perfect spot to relax.

Tramper hire

The Tramper is an electric all-terrain mobility scooter available for use at Ravenscar Visitor Centre. The scooter has been designed specifically to cover rough ground including mud, grass, cambers and steeper inclines safely, allowing visitors with limited or poor mobility, who have difficulty walking to explore iconic beauty spots in the North York Moors.

The North York Moors Mobility scheme has been set up in partnership with Lake District Mobility. It's part of our continued commitment to make more of our beautiful places accessible to those who are less physically able.
