Bridget Wilkinson and Meg Ashley come together to celebrate the dynamic northeast coastline. The use of vibrant colour and texture in their paintings and ceramics - along with a dash of whimsical reflection and delight - reflects the ever-changing, rhythmic splendour of nature.
Bridget Wilkinson is an artist living in the small fishing town of Whitby. She works primarily in acrylics on canvas.
Bridget has long been influenced by her local environment and being self-taught has allowed her to develop her own unique style. Her scenes of the coast and underwater life are bold, quirky, colourful and energetic. Her work is layered and often narrative, incorporating flowing curves and patterns, abundant with marine life.
She captures the essence of an idyllic coastal world, producing fun and refreshing paintings that make you smile.

Painter, ceramicist, and art-and-design specialist Meg Ashley has been living in the northeast for 40 years.
She can often be found walking along the Cleveland Way, camera in hand, enjoying the beautiful countryside. Her work is inspired by the vibrant colours and sculptural textures to be found along the coast and in the North York Moors, and all of her work is a response to the contours and rhythms of nature.
Meg uses a variety of mediums to produce her deeply textured paintings, which capture the minutiae of the seashore while also expressing something of the physical qualities of the coast, forest and countryside.
Her colour bowls, vases and sculptural pieces are organic and ever changing in style. Each piece is unique, its form and surface pattern shaped by nature and inspired by the sea, the fields or the woodlands.
