Your stay coincides perfectly with the Perseids meteor shower, making it a great time to experience the beauty of the dark starry sky. Grab a blanket, settle by the fire pit and watch shooting stars!
By day explore Dalby Forest’s walking and cycle trails, stroll along a quiet beckside path to the chocolate box village of Thornton le Dale (think cosy pubs, and ice cream parlour, and one of the most photographed thatched cottages in the country) or venture further afield to explore coastal villages, or pretty market towns.
The Hut is a traditional shepherds hut on wheels, with a curved roof, open plan living and sleeping space, en-suite shower room, compact kitchen and wood burning stove. To top it all off, a breakfast basket of homemade and locally sourced goodies is included.
Day three of the stay (7 August) includes an immersive, morning forest walk with wildlife guide Richard Baines from Yorkshire Coast Nature. This experience will open your ears to the wonder of bird sounds, as you learn new deep listening skills and relax amongst the trees.
