Empowering communities to connect with nature and address climate change
We aim to:
- Reconnect communities with nature
- Give communities a voice to influence public policy
- Understand how you connect with nature and contribute to its preservation
- Support communities and nature to flourish
We will achieve this by:
- Engaging with community groups and activities
- Exploring how you connect with nature
- Learning from local knowledge
- Connecting you to relevant events
- Sharing our research
- Understanding what matters to you
How
We want to meet, talk, walk and record your stories and ideas about protecting the environment and restoring nature.
We aim to share you knowledge, stories, and ideas through film and creative writing.
Why
This story-led research project will focus on how you care for the local environment, including the River Esk and Coastal Streams.
We hope that by sharing your stories, we can influence environmental policy.
Get involved
As part of our work, we would like to understand how you connect with nature in your local area and contribute to its preservation. We would be grateful if you could share your thoughts in a short survey. Clicking the button below will take you to the survey on the York St John University's website, it takes around 5 minutes to complete, and your responses will be anonymous.
