Keith Blessed

Pastel artist Keith Blessed was born in Doncaster in 1953. He worked in hospital pathology labs and the pharmaceutical industry before taking early retirement in 2001, when he moved to the picturesque seaside town of Whitby.
Keith is passionate about promoting the use and understanding of painting with pastels.
His sources of inspiration are the seascapes and landscapes of the northeast coast and moors, in particular their ever-changing moods and atmosphere.
He portrays dramatic sunrises, sunsets and stormy skies in equal measure, showing the contrasting light and shadow in vibrant detail. His work is on display in the Cellar Gallery in Whitby, and he is also a member of the Pastel Society of Australia.
