Pure Light, Bright Water
Friday 25 September to Tuesday 13 October
Sue Morton's landscape paintings celebrate the unique character and ever-changing moods of North Yorkshire's villages, moors and coastal scenery, enhanced by the clarity of the air and beautiful, but ephemeral light effects.
Sue Morton
Sue’s Morton’s home and workshop is in the Whitby area, where members of her family have lived for several generations.
Sue trained in the arts, worked in the museum and arts sector, and ran an historic house museum. She later became Associate and then Principal of an historic building consultancy. Throughout her several careers she painted and exhibited whenever she could, but finally gave up the day job to come home to Whitby and paint full time.
She has exhibited previously at the Inspired by… gallery, as well as at the Coast Gallery (Cloughton, Scarborough), where she is sometimes a guest painter, and at other Yorkshire venues.
Sue paints in oils, watercolour and acrylics and her work can be seen at Coast Gallery, the Picture Place (Wykeham, Scarborough) and Whitby Galleries (Whitby).
