The North York Moors National Park Authority has made an Order, the effect of which is to make the following closure in the parish of Lockwood in the borough of Redcar & Cleveland   :

Public Footpath 510 Lockwood (A-B-C):
No pedestrian shall proceed along this footpath from Grid Reference NZ 6982 1247 (Point A) on the side of the A171 Guisborough to Whitby road (south-east of Mount Pleasant Farm), in a generally easterly direction to Grid Reference NZ 6986 1250 (Point B – crossing over a tributary of Skate Beck) and then onto Gerrick Lane at Grid Reference NZ 7074 1244 (Point C). A total distance of 693 metres.

The Order is necessary due to the unsafe condition of the existing beck crossing.

The closure will be put into effect by means of the erection of notices, signs and maps, and the alternative route will be signed on site where appropriate.
