About Helmsley Walled Garden
Helmsley Walled Garden is five glorious acres in the North York Moors National Park. A patchwork of small, intimate gardens is planted up with beautiful displays of flowers, fruit and vegetables. Used as one of the locations for the new film version of The Secret Garden, it is full of colour and corners to explore as well as places to sit and relax. The garden is fully accessible and dogs are welcome on leads.
Stroll along the Hot Border which zings with colour in summer, discover medieval medicinal herbs in the Physic Garden. Count our apple trees and find out about our collection of Yorkshire apple varieties or simply relax under a tree. You can bring a picnic to enjoy in the garden, feed the chickens or discover how you can attract wildlife to your own garden.
The award-winning Vine House Café provides a range of delicious cakes and lunches with a changing specials board and a collection of specially curated gins.
The garden shop and plant centre have a range of plants propagated in the garden as well as gifts, cards, books, food and drink made in Yorkshire.
