About Scarborough Maritime Heritage Centre

As a registered charity Scarborough Maritime Heritage Centre’s aim is to educate the public. Scarborough Maritime Heritage Centre has been working for over 10 years to help preserve the maritime history of Scarborough so it can be passed on to future generations.

Scarborough Maritime Heritage Centre aims to retain the skills and knowledge of the fishing, boat building and seafaring community.

  • To hold archives and artefacts relevant to the town's maritime heritage and make them accessible to all.
  • To stage exhibitions and events involving members of the community.

Scarborough Maritime Heritage Centre’s volunteers give public talks and research questions received from the public.

Scarborough Maritime Heritage Centre welcomes and trains volunteers from the community and help them develop their skills and confidence.
