Where to stay

Our Esk Valley Walk accommodation guide can help you plan your walking trip in the North York Moors National Park.
You can walk the entire route in 3 to 4 days, moving on each day, or consider staying longer in one place and use the Esk Valley Railway (Castleton to Whitby) to complete the Esk Valley Walk in several day-walk sections. We've concentrated on establishments offering overnight B&B accommodation suitable for Esk Valley walkers, but some places also have self-catering accommodation available for longer stays.
The places listed are all either on, or within 2 miles of, the route of the Esk Valley Walk. Overnight stops in the National Park are shown in the order of the walk, from west to east, Castleton to Whitby.
We don't include accommodation in Whitby, at the end of the walk, but the town has lots of options for those wanting to extend their stay for a few days - our general accommodation page has some more ideas.
Please note:
- Inclusion in this list does not constitute a recommendation
- If you would like your business to be considered for this guide (and it is on or near the trail, as outlined below), please contact j.brown@northyorkmoors.org.uk
