Yorkshire Lavender, winner of Visit York Tourism Awards 'Visitor Attraction of the Year' 2011, is a friendly and welcoming free attraction. This award-winning Lavender Farm and Gardens is set in the Howardian Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Yorkshire Lavender is the perfect place to visit whether you wish to stop all day or just spend a few hours. Visit the gardens, Deer Park, Sculpture Park, Hillside Snakes and Ladders, Specialist Plant Nursery, Gift Shop and Tearoom, where you can indulge in a delicious homemade lavender scone.
The visitor car park is situated adjacent to the main entrance and has facilities for approximately 50 cars and 2 coaches. There are no dropped kerbs. There are designated disabled car parking spaces which will accommodate up to 3 cars directly in front of the Centre.
Entry is through the Visitor Centre, which is found immediately next to the car park. The entrance gates are 3m wide and there are no barriers to be negotiated. All internal areas within Yorkshire Lavender are located on the ground floor with no steps to negotiate allowing easy access.
Access to all facility areas is by paved or rolled hoggin paths with wide aisles. Throughout the gardens there are some grass paths which are kept firm to ease wheelchair and buggy access.
The staff in the Gift Shop are the main point of contact for visitors and are trained to be able to answer questions and to know who to contact if they don't know the answer.
