Arts and craft courses
We have an exciting programme of arts and craft courses and workshops in the gallery during 2020. We also hold talks, and other events at various times of the year. A 10% discount is offered on up to four workshops in a calendar year for our Inspired by... gallery Supporters (excluding Art History Day Schools with the WEA).
All of our workshops have Covid-19 safety measures in place, with smaller class sizes, which make for an enjoyable and relaxed experience.
Willow Weaving Workshops
Join expert willow weaver Anthea Firth on one of her relaxing and informative workshops where you will learn the techniques required to produce your own sculptures or seasonal decorations. The workshops are aimed at beginners as well as those with some experience of the craft. You'll learn the core techniques required for willow working as well as the specific skills needed to create your willow creation. Please wear comfortable casual clothes. Materials and tools provided. Learn how to make:
- Deer (Saturday 10 October): Book online.
- Robin (Saturday 7 November): Book online.
- Angel (Saturday 5 December): Book online.
All workshops 10:30am-3:30pm. Please bring a packed lunch. Minimum age 18. Not wheelchair accessible.
Cost: £50 including all materials. Advance booking essential for all workshops (details to follow).
Countdown to Christmas, The Moors National Park Centre (14 November – 23 December 2020)
From 14 November, head to The Moors National Park Centre for all your Christmas essentials. Relax and browse the range of special gifts, decorations and festive food & drink, it’s the perfect place to do a spot of Christmas shopping.
In the Inspired by… gallery, an incredible range of craft products will be available from 15 talented artisans, as part of Brigantia’s Box of Delights exhibition, which opens on 14 November and runs through to 24 January 2021; perfect for presents and made with Christmas in mind.
A delectable selection of Christmas treats will also be available from our food hall, open daily from 5 – 13 December, championing our passionate local suppliers.
For families, follow the adventures of Merrymouse to find The Lost Christmas Tree Baubles on a magical story trail and claim your Merrymouse prize.
When you need a rest from all the hustle and bustle, why not visit Park Life Café, and enjoy a festive treat or two to revive your spirits!
Entry is free and The Moors National Park Centre will be open from 10.30am to 4.00pm throughout November and December.
