Market days

Many of the towns in the area still have weekly markets. As well as being good places to buy fresh produce, they're very much a part of the local scene.
Country Markets (formerly known as WI Markets) also hold regular markets in various towns, selling home made produce and refreshments. Expect high quality cakes, jams, marmalades, pickles and honey, eggs, seasonal vegetables and fruit, plants, cut flowers and home made crafts. NB most Country Markets are often closed in January or have reduced winter opening, check opening times before visiting.
Farmers' markets are also held throughout the North York Moors and are well worth a visit too.
