Wildlife of the Rye

A kingfisher, a grey heron and a toad are just some of the many species that bring vibrancy and life to the Rye landscape.

You'll also discover elegant illustrations of these creatures at the Ryevitalise 'Nature Lab' exhibition at Sutton Bank National Park centre.

Drawn by illustrator Nick Ellwood, they capture the vitality, detail and beauty of the area’s wildlife, including lesser-known species such as the mysterious Alcathoe bat.

You can learn more about these creatures on the following pages.
