A visit here offers one of the most spectacular views in the National Park with opportunities for walking, cycling or simply admiring the view from our new, fully accessible viewing platform.

Getting here

The Hole of Horcum car park (charges apply) is located on the A169, 7.8 miles north of Pickering.

Coastliner 840 bus service from Leeds/York to Whitby stops at the Hole of Horcum.

Information

A short walk from the car park is the dramatic panorama from our viewing platform, a great place to start your adventure in and around the Hole of Horcum.

You can also purchase our 'Hole of Horcum’ walk leaflet – available from local outlets – with two easy-to-follow circular walks starting at our car park, complete with maps and information.

Facilities

Car parking is available, charges apply.

Nearest public toilets: Goathland car park (6.2 miles), Thornton le Dale car park (7.3 miles) or Pickering (The Ropery and Eastgate car parks - maintained by North Yorkshire Council) (7.7 miles).

There are cafés in nearby Lockton, Pickering and Thornton le Dale.

Please note all toilets operated by North York Moors National Park Authority are open daily 7.30am - 5.30pm, except at Sutton Bank and Danby Lodge National Park Centres, which are open 10am - 5pm.
