Getting here

Public transport is aplenty in the National Park so do think about ways you can take the bus and train whilst getting around.

Journey across the Capital of Cake car free!

David loved touring across the North York Moors showing how many ways we can ditch a car and use alternative modes of transport. Not only from a feel-good, environmental perspective. It adds an extra element of appreciating the journey and seeing new landscapes.

Throughout his Capital of Cake journey, we see the benefits of earning your cake calories by walking to your destination. We covered the Cleveland Way and Esk Valley walk. Take a look at our walking pages to plan your cake trail. Cycling is another fantastic way to discover new trails and cover greater distances- especially if you opt for an electric bike!
